CERAMICS

Introduction
 

There are many micro industries and craft workshops in the countryside and some offer the chance to learn new skills.

I went, with my daughter, to a local village where a potter had started ceramic classes.  She made the slip, poured the moulds and fired them and we bought the greenware.  It has raised lines where the joins in the moulds are, so it was necessary to cut these off with special tools, and then we painted and glazed them .  It was great fun to do, but a bit expensive, so was not a long term hobby.
